Nowadays, basically everyone own their smart devices such as mobile phone. They will checked daily news in different kinds of media apps. These information that we see are control by news organization.
In Australia, News corp controls almost 70 percent of newspaper in the country.Australia has three main free-to-air television networks — the Nine Network, Ten Network Holdings and Seven West Media — as well as the publicly funded ABC and SBS TV networks. Commercial free-to-air networks can currently stream their services nationally.(Johnston 2016)
In China, we also got different kinds of format for media such as television, newspapers, radio, magazines, and the most importantly, the Internet. However, all of the media company in China are under the supervision of the Chinese government. This is totally different from Australia. In China , you are not allowed to publish speech or news which against government’s opinion. It is also not allowed for media company to discredit China or Chinese government, and that’s is the reason that YouTube, Twitter and Facebook are all banned in China. People who live in China have to use VPN to have access to these website. The reason for why Chinese government banned these things is because there are too many content and video talking about the “truth” in China. (Raphael 2009)Chinese government doesn’t want us to see the dark side of the country, so they banned these apps to make sure everyone can support and make contribution for China.
In my opinion, if I standing on China’s position. I think they made the right choice, because everything have two side, no matter what it is .Every country has their secrets, China has banned all of the message which are adverse to the country, to make a better future for China. However, as a Chinese. I feels regret for our people, because there is a wall on our Internet, if I wasn’t study aboard, there will be so many news and information that I will never know.
In China, you need to have the ability to discern the difference between the real and the fake news. There will be huge amounts of fake news in people’s daily life, lots of company will write something which is not true for the clicking rate.So they can make profit from it. I can’t say most of the news are fake in China, but people can not trust the news and newspaper article easily.
Over all, Chinese government controls the media in China , and the situation won’t be change in a short period.

This is a fascinating and excellent blog post. It is interesting to compare the control of media in China to that of Australia and seeing the similarities and differences between the two. The differences in media control are especially interesting, given the cultural and political differences between Australia and China. Australia has a far greater level of freedom with our media due to this, providing different views on the news, without completely changing the story. As you mention, the people of China are not given this opportunity, but unfortunately this is unlikely to change anytime soon.
