#Bcm 114 process of my project(Anime introduction)

Start with week 1 of my Bcm114 study, I have to choose something which I am interested with and expand it as my DA topic. There are three steps that I have to pay attention, ideating, prototyping and making.

With the first step with ideating, I decide to do anime introduction as my DA topic because I have been watch anime for long times and I want more people to have a better understanding with anime and join to this culture. However, there are so many good anime in the world and I can not introduce all of them. So I decide to introduce some anime which are most famous and classic, also the representative work in anime. I am really excited with this project and I also post it on Twitter when I confirm the topic of my project.

Therefore, I decide to create a YouTube channel so I can upload some video with anime introduction. For my first video on my YouTube channel, I have made a 2 minutes pitch video to share my DA project with my classmates.

Next step with my DA will be prototyping and making , for recent weeks I start to write some scripts for my new video. I want to make sure that the quality of my video is not going to be bad, so it took me lots of time to find the background story of the anime that I focus on, and also the figure out how am I going to introduce the anime.

Script of my video

My second video will be Naruto introduction, Naruto is one of the most popular and successful anime in the world.Naruto owned huge amount of fans in worldwide, in the video I will talk about the story of Naruto and the reason for Naruto’s success. The video will be release on this weekend.

This project is not a easy process, I have to do lots of research to let my audiences understand more about the anime itself. Also it is hard to introduce a 720 episodes anime into 2 mins video. There are still lots of things that I need to focus with my project, hopefully my channel and project will become better as the time goes by.

  1. My sister has been a massive anime fan for years, and for a long time now, she’s been trying to convince me to start watching it too. I’ve wanted to get into anime for a long time now, but there’s so much choice out there that I become overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. The type of YouTube channel that you’re making would be beneficial to somebody like me.

There can also be a lot of social stigma surrounding anime (for example, I once overheard somebody say that people who watch anime don’t have lives, which isn’t true at all). The more that people talk about why anime is excellent, the more that these stereotypes and social stigmas will be broken.

I’m also making a YouTube channel for my Digital Artefact (although my channel is focused on talking about internet subcultures). I know that personally, my biggest concern is that nobody will end up watching my videos. Hopefully, as long as we continue to advertise our DA’s on twitter (which you are doing already), it will draw in some form of a market.

Good luck with your channel, I’ll be keeping an eye out for it!

  2. Yo man, sweet post. As an avid anime fan myself, it’s nice to see a DA that’s all about promoting it (especially since I tried to do a similar thing last semester).
After watching your pitch and reading this, I have to say I do like the idea of introducing anime to the uninformed – however, I’m not sure if your proposed methods are exactly the *best* way to go about it. For example, you mention introducing ‘Naruto’ by talking about the story and why it’s successful. While this is fine, perhaps you might consider also talking about *why* it would appeal to non-anime-fans, or even ruminating on *if* it’s exactly the best anime to introduce to total newbies. But of course, this depends on *who* your target audience is, and there’s still plenty of time to research such things anyway.
I have more opinions about anime shilling to the uninitiated, but I won’t go into them here. Overall, it’s a nice-soundin’ project, and I wish you the best of luck with it.
